چکیده
ABSTRACT We present a new SOFIA/FORCAST mid-infrared survey of luminous protostars and crowded star-forming environments in Cygnus X, the nearest million-solar mass molecular cloud complex. derive bolometric luminosities for over 1000 sources region with these data combination extant Spitzer UKIDSS photometry, 63 protostar candidates identified by way high-quality data. By including FORCAST data, we construct protostellar luminosity functions (PLFs) improved completeness at high end. The PLFs are well described power-law function an index ∼−0.5. Based on Herschel temperature column density measurements, find no obvious dependence local gas temperature, but regions stellar or exhibit some excess higher luminosities. Through comparison between our observed existing accretion models, both turbulent core competitive models consistent results, while isothermal sphere model is disfavoured. implications results star formation process discussed.

Evolution in the X–ray Cluster Luminosity Function Revisited
We present new X–ray data taken from the ROSAT PSPC pointing archive for 21 clusters in the Einstein Extended Medium Sensitivity Survey (EMSS). We have supplemented these data with new optical follow–up observations found in the literature and overall, 32 of the original 67 z > 0.14 EMSS clusters now have new information. Using this revised sample, we find no systematic difference, as a functio...
متن کاملStudy the X - ray Dust Scattering Halos with Chandra Observations of Cygnus X - 3 and Cygnus X - 1
We improve the method proposed by Yao et al (2003) to resolve the X-ray dust scattering halos of point sources. Using this method we re-analyze the Cygnus X-1 data observed with Chandra (ObsID 1511) and derive the halo radial profile in different energy bands and the fractional halo intensity (FHI) as I(E) = 0.402×E keV. We also apply the method to the Cygnus X-3 data (Chandra ObsID 425) and de...
متن کاملProbing the Low-luminosity X-ray Luminosity Function in Normal Elliptical Galaxies
We present the first low-luminosity [LX > (5 10) ; 10 ergs s ] X-ray luminosity functions (XLFs) of low-mass X-ray binaries (LMXBs) determined for two typical old elliptical galaxies, NGC 3379 and NGC 4278. Because both galaxies contain little diffuse emission from hot ISM and no recent significant star formation (hence no high-mass X-ray binary contamination), they provide two of the best homo...
متن کاملThe Bright SHARC Survey : The X – ray Cluster Luminosity Function
We present here initial results on the X–ray Cluster Luminosity Function (XCLF) from the Bright SHARC sample of distant X–ray clusters of galaxies. This sample is 97% complete in its optical identifications and contains 12 X–ray luminous clusters in the redshift range 0.3 ≤ z ≤ 0.83 (median z = 0.42) and 1.1 ≤ Lx ≤ 8.5 × 10 erg s−1 [0.5–2.0 keV]. We present a preliminary selection function for ...
